Yesterday was Brad's 30th birthday. We celebrated on Saturday with a good ol' football party! The Acevedo family came down from Gainesville Friday night- Brad and Ace played the new Tiger Woods game for the Wii that I got Brad, then we all headed downstairs and played Rock Band for a bit before heading off to bed. Curt and Jenn Hill arrived first thing Saturday morning, while I was off picking up the cake.

Good Food, Great Friends and the Best Family
The cake was FANTASTIC. A local baker made it for me, I have been so excited about it for weeks. Brad knew I ordered a cake but I didn't tell him what it would look like- he loved it! It was a white cake with chocolate-hazelnut filling and the fondant was homemade marshmallow fondant, so it actually tasted good! VERY sweet but that's never a bad thing. She gave me a gift certificate for $20 off another cake, so I am thinking Landon will have a fancy first birthday cake in January!
I'm getting ahead of myself though.
My parents arrived, and then Jaime, Shawn and Madalyn were right behind them. Chris and Julie came down, and Brad's parents arrived not long after that. That is a lot of people in my tiny little house, but it was so much fun. The Gators were playing Tennessee, so most everyone was upstairs in the theater watching the game while I was in the kitchen making one thing or another. I'll have to share recipes in another post, we had some yummy food!
Everyone had a lot of fun, a lot of football was watched, a lot of beer was consumed, all the food was enjoyed and we hardly had any leftovers. Just enough for Brad and I for lunch yesterday. Of course I was so busy doing one thing or another, that I didn't get any pictures of anything! Just a few of us singing happy birthday, but I, of course, forgot to buy candles because I stupidly assumed we had some so he didn't even have anything to blow out! So those aren't even exciting!!
Happy birthday to the sweetest, kindest, most loving and wonderful husband and daddy we could ask for. We all love you so much! Here's to a lifetime to come of happiness and celebration. And hopefully better pictures to remember when we are old and our memories lose focus!

Guess who's crawling?!?
Video to come shortly- I have NO idea how to upload it from our camera so Brad'll have to do it. But it is sooo cute! He has been on all fours, rocking, for about a month and then the night of the first Gator game we were on the floor at Grandma and Grandaddy's and off he went! The first few days he couldn't get anywhere fast, but it was better than the backwards crawl he had been doing! And now he is exploring like crazy- it is so much fun to watch him discovering everything!

She Keeps Me Laughing
Backstory: When our fish died, we told Savannah that they went to be with Jesus She takes this very seriously, and has asked on occasion about other people and things going to be with Jesus.
Last night we were laying in bed and Savannah was tickling me. I am extremely ticklish but she usually doesn't actually tickle, so I have to pretend. Well, she got me under my arm and it tickled like crazy! So I put my arm down and was keeping it from her. She was pushing on my arm, trying to get me to move. Then she said:
"I can't find your armpit! Where'd it go? Is it with Jesus?"
I still haven't quit laughing.

Wrapping Up August
Life was busy when we got back from vacation. Getting everyone back into routine, and Landon still isn't there yet. He apparently forgot how to fall asleep in his crib while we were gone and we have been trying tog et him back to normal ever since. And it isn't going very well. Let's just say there are a lot of tired people around our house lately and leave it at that. Brad has been working a lot, and has a few trials coming up so he'll be working even more late hours in the coming weeks and months. We managed to make it to one play group since we've been back, and it was a lot of fun. There is this cute little shopping area in Tampa called Hyde Park, and right in the middle is a little playground with the cutest little splash park. Savannah had so much fun and I got some really cute pictures, I'll have to upload them soon. Landon slept through the whole thing in his stroller so it was fun to be able to just take pictures of Savannah and the other cuties in our play group. Then Savannah fell and skinned her knees- poor thing came over to me with the saddest look on her face and then wouldn't tell me what happened until I saw the red blooming on her knees. I scooped her up and took her to the diaper bag where I luckily keep a first aid kit- got her all cleaned up and wouldn't you know it, the little stinker was more upset about getting band-aids on her knees than actually scraping them! She was so funny, too- for the next week and a half she had to have her knees covered at all times, but didn't want band-aids. She had to have her dress or pants pulled down over her knees, or she wanted a blanket. In August!!
And now football season is upon us which means two things- our weekends are crazy busy with traveling to the home games, and the next 4 months are going to fly by because we are doing so much on the weekends. In a way I am glad because I am itching to decorate for Christmas and get into the swing of the holidays, but then I am so bummed because I don't want Landon to be a year old!! I am so not ready for that! He is already growing up too fast! We started solid foods with him right before we left for vacation he hated rice cereal and oatmeal so when we got home we jumped right into veggies. So far he has had and loved squash, sweet potatoes, carrots and green beans for veggies, and then he just had bananas (but hated them) this weekend and he ate an entire container of applesauce last night. One thing is for sure, the boy loves to eat! Once he figured out the whole spoon thing, he usually eats a full container in one sitting. I think we will be ready for Stage 2 foods before too long!
And his latest mile stone is... crawling!! On Saturday after the Gator game we were sitting around Brad's parents house and Landon just started crawling! He can't get anywhere fast yet but it won't be but a matter of days, I bet. I knew he was close, and I figured he'd get it around 7 months but it still didn't prepare me emotionally for it!

And last Thursday I decided to play dress up with the kids- I knew Landon wouldn't fit in Savannah's cow costume from her first Halloween for trick-or-treating, but I wanted to get him in it so we got all dressed up and went out back and got some adorable shots of the two of them, including Landon laying in the grass, looking like he was grazing. Too cute! I'll finish going through them and upload some more, soon!
