Slacking

I am in serious need of a real update on here. I have been busy. I have a ton of photos I need to post. Landon is growing so fast, and I have been a real slacker on updating on him. It is easier at times to post photos. Savannah is talking so much lately, she keeps me in stitches. I am getting ready for my second girl's night out in the last week- seriously needed girl time.

I will try to do my big update post this weekend. With text and photos. I promise. Plus there is more I want to add to the format, but for now I will leave you with my awesome new mast head. I didn't design it myself, but I am super proud of it just the same. And keep coming back to the blog just to admire it.

Roly Poly Landon

Watch the progression:

Definitely not thrilled with being set on his back....

Up come the legs! And he starts to topple over...

Almost there!

Okay, now how do we get this shoulder out of the way??

Uh-oh, now what?!

Now I Lay Me

Every night before bed, Savannah and I say her prayers- the one that goes "Now I lay me down to sleep..." It started with me saying it to her, and then I started breaking it down so she would say the words after me, and more recently she has started saying most of it along with me.

I just came inside from feeding the cat and there is my little princess, sitting next to Landon and holding his hand, saying the prayer to him. When she finished she said, "Good job, Landon!" and gave him a kiss.

And now she is teaching him his A, B, C's.

How else will I remember these moments, if I don't write them down here?

The Newest Member

Brad has been after me to post some photos of Bruce, the newest member of our aquarium. So I figured, in all fairness, I should update on all the new members. [Keep in mind that A, the fish move a lot and it is hard to get good, non blurry photos of them and B, we have a 2 year old thus many of the fish are named after characters from Finding Nemo]

Here's Bruce, the shark.

He is a Coral Cat Shark. Right now he is about 12 inches long, and will likely double in length when he is full grown.

Here is our Angel Fish- she doesn't really have a name yet and Savannah just calls her Angel Fish. So I guess that will stick.

This is a Picasso Trigger, called such because he looks like something Picasso would have painted (his colors will brighten when he is matured) We call him Pablo. I think the reasoning is obvious.

This is a Sohal Tang. He is the sme family of fish as Dory (from Finding Nemo) just a different color. He is from the Red Sea, and is very hard to come by. Brad got him on sale :) I have named him SoHo.

One of our three anenomes. One doesn't have a lot of color and doesn't photograph well, and the other takes to hiding behind the rocks. It still creeps me out that they actually move. And eat.

Green Eyed Monster

The green-eyed monster has arrived in our home.

Out of no where, Savannah is suddenly very jealous of any attention Landon gets. She wants all his toys, she gets very upset when someone picks him up. When Landon cries, she'll see me head towards him and start yelling, "Mommy carry you!" trying to get me to pick her up instead. It has become a balancing act, trying to make sure that she is getting just as much love and attention from us- but sometimes Landon's needs are more pressing than her desire to just be picked up.

It is exhausting.

I've also started watching Logan, the 4 month old son of one of the girls in our play group. It is just part time- his mom, Alyson, works in retail and her schedule is kind of all over the place. I had him 2 days this week, and either 3 or 4 next week. But those days are busy, busy, busy! Luckily he is pretty low maintenance, and so is Landon, but it makes me very thankful that I never had twins. Taking care of 2 infants is pretty exhausting- but lots of fun, too. A month or two from now they will be very cute and have fun playing together.

Here's Logan:

He's such a cutie, and has the deepest voice I've ever heard on a baby. Easily 3 octaves lower than Landon's, and it just makes me laugh! Luckily, for right now, Savannah is thrilled to have Logan here- she wants to show him EVERYTHING, so her jealousy disappears for a few hours, at least!!
