Oath of Attorney

This afternoon Brad placed his hand upon his Grandfather's bible and took a solemn oath to uphold the laws of the state and land to the best of his abilities. This oath marked the culmination of 3 years hard work and dedication and his admittance to the Florida Bar. We are so proud of his accomplishments and I am so looking forward to entering this next phase in our life together.

Congratulations, Brad!

zzzzzzzz....

Last night we put Savannah down for the night at 11:15. She has been averaging about 5 hours of sleep, then she wakes up to eat and goes back down for another 3 hours or so. We've felt very blessed from the get go.

At the beginning, when we first came home from the hospital, I would wake up in the night and have to check her all the time to make sure she was still breathing- that she didn't choke on her spit up or smother herself with the hand she liked to keep over her face. I got a little better as the weeks went on....

Last night I woke up at her usual 5 hour mark and listened to the sweet sound of silence. Smiling, I rolled over and cherished what I thought would be mere minutes of extra sleep. I heard those sweet baby sounds, the sounds of the first wakeful minutes that let me know she'll be wide awake and hungry in just a few minutes.... and when I opened my eyes and looked at the clock beside my bed I saw the numbers reading 8:10 am. As in, she slept for 9 hours straight without so much as a whimper!

I could get used to this.

God is good, MasterCard style

3 years of law school: $100,000+
Bar prep courses: $3,000
Admission to the Florida Bar: $875
Passing the bar exam first time around: Priceless

Thank you all so much for the thoughts and prayers during the last 4 months. I never doubted Brad for a second, but I know he is feeling such relief right now, knowing that it was all worth it in the end. After 2 months of studying 12+ hours a day, and 7 weeks of waiting anxiously, we now know that Brad's hard work really paid off. He passed! Now it is time to really start the house hunt, now that we know for sure that we are moving to Sarasota!
